Input...need Input...

Every Christmas my roomates family buys train tickets for her older (married) sister to come up and visit for a week or so. They only buy three tickets for her sister and each one of the kids and dont bring her husband up here because they don't like him. They also don't tell her when they buy the tickets or ask when she's available to come up here, they just give her the tickets to come up here and the return ticket on the day she leaves. This pisses me off. To a great deal.

They also assume that the three of them can stay with my roommate. Last year when she came up here I didnt live with my roommate, I had my own place in the suburb. But her sister and the roommate got in each others faces last year to the point her sister was about to punch her in the face, she actually had her hand behind her head and was ready to swing when I pulled her away and we left. We went straight to the police department.

The issue was since her husband wasn't up here and her sis doesnt have a phone, her husband was calling her phone nonstop to talk to her and the kids. My roommate said he could call once a night to talk and say goodnight to the kids (ages 1 and 7) and he was calling her phone all the time when she wasn't with her sister. So when she went to her parents house to pick them up to bring them back to her place, she got upset that she told off her husband and was ready to hit her. Due to this, my roommate said she did not want them coming back to her apt that night because she didnt feel safe with her sister and she has a right to feel safe in HER place, where SHE pays the rent, not her dad or her sister.

First of all, she never would have been that angry before she married this guy. Her sister has never had anger issues. Second, when we went to the police department, the officer we spoke with said he would have done the same thing.... if his wife and kids were across the state and he couldnt get a hold of them, he would continue. She wasnt even with her sister at the time he kept on calling and she told him that. Then, while we were sitting there talking to the officer, her husband called the police to do a welfare check on his kids at her parents house because he couldnt reach his wife. Then the officer basically bashed us saying that she was a bad aunt if she threw her sister out in the cold with the two kids. Her sister ended up staying at her apartment and she stayed at my place for two days until they left.

Heres the issue. This Christmas, we have a place together. A 2 bedroom. And her parents just ASSUME that her sister and the two kids can stay here. They have never asked her, they just make it happen. I have said no, I dont want them staying here. First of all, there's no space. Second, I dont like her sister anymore since I've seen things posted on facebook about me. Third, I dont agree with her parents side to not bring all of them to visit. I've always said if my family cant accomodate me then they need to make arrangements to do so and if they refuse to have my husband come visit, then I refuse to come visit.

My roomate claims she is going to tell her parents that she dont want them here, or she just wants the kids here and not her sister. I keep telling her no, and she claims her dad will bribe her, like saying he'll fix her car thats been broke for 6 months and is currently in their backyard, if he lets them stay here. I am prepeared to push them out the door if they arrive here and I dont care if they have to leave in handcuffs. I also told her to tell her Dad that she has to ask me and I say no. Neither her sister or my roommate will stand up to their parents.

What should I do? What would you do?

Tiredness

I is so tired. Want to go to bed. But the ancient dryer in the hallway takes two cycles to completely dry clothes and I've been doing laundry since 5 pm.... last load is on the second try in the dryer.... I shoulda done the jeans first...

I been slacking on blogging. And everything else also. My computer came up with 22 viruses this past week so it disappered for a little bit til my bro fixed it for me, but lost all that was on it. Wiped it clean.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow for us. I can't wait to have a real Thanksgiving type dinner instead of cafeteria community dinner takeout. It was okay but homemade is always better.

Yay I think the dryers done. Bedtime for me. Ooops false alarm. Darn it.

Think my blog needs a makeover. Surprised I've let it stay one way for this long. We've lived here just a little more than a month and I rearranged my room today. When I was a kid I used to rearrange my room every month. I still do. The place I lived in earlier this year I had for 7 months and I think I rearranged the living room 4 times and the bedroom 3 times. I'd rearrange the kitchen if I could!

Chair is comfy. Dont even wanna go to bed. Sleepy bye right here in Daddys recliner that he wants back and isnt getting back ;)

I'm going to do the 101 in 1001 list.... someday. I'm the worst procrastinator in the world, maybe that would help me along a little bit.

More later. Goodnight.

It's a Boy Meets World Marathon Day

Yep. It's on ABC Family at like 6 am... and of course set to record on the DVR. They finished the end episodes last week and re started from the beginning.

I didn't wanna get out of bed today and now that I'm up I dont want to go to bed. Just wanna lay in my recliner and watch TV and randomly play games on facebook.

Cravin chocolate and ice cream.

Think my allergies are hitting me hard. Been sneezing all day and last night and nose was running, and today its just kinda blah cold and raining.... its barely 40 degrees.... theyre saying it might, ahem... um, throw that stuff down we get when it gets cold.

Was outside a little bit ago and felt like I was gonna pass out... my legs went like they just wanted to collapse on me and I got light headed and dizzy. Dunno whats wrong with me. I need a nap.

It WAS a Beautiful Morning...

So the daylight savings time thing gave me an extra hour of sleep and for some reason I was comepletely refreshed when I woke up this morning. Maybe because I went to bed at midnight thirty instead of 2 (or was it really 1?)

Maybe because I didn't have to wake up and rush out the door to walk two miles into the city to catch the bus that only comes by once an hour on Sundays to go downtown and PBT this morning?

Or because I fell asleep reading a book instead of watching tv like I normally do? Maybe I might actually finish this book I got from the library. It's called Suicide Notes and is written from the perspective of a 16 yr old who tried to kill himself and then got committed to a psychiatric unit for 45 days... it's been interesting.

Sun's out, blue sky, light breeze, nearly 60 degrees.... the only thing that could make this day better is if I had the freedom to go for a Sunday drive and see the last of the fall colors before they all disappear. But I still see green outside my window. Which is weird because it's been frosty most every night for the past couple weeks. I almost want to open the windows and air this apartment out before I get a chance to not do so.

So I'm awake and enjoying peace and quiet for approximately an hour or so before the roomate wakes up. I'm in the bathroom and she decides she's going to put a CD in the surround sound system (which is MINE) and crank some tunes, then starts singing along at the top of her lungs. The surround sound system is in the living room, and her bedroom is in the back, and I can hear both her and the music as she's hiding in her room singing along. I come out of the bathroom and say "it's impossible to get any peace and quiet with you around..." and turn off the CD. She says "I was listening to that" and I was like, I dont care. Then she slams the door and goes back into her room.

Yesterday when I walked into the city to catch the bus, she let me borrow her mp3 player because mine mysteriously disappeared before I moved this last summer. I think I left it in my hoodie pocket and it went through the washer then melted in the dryer because it's gone and that hoodie pocket is the last place I remember having it. I didn't ask her to borrow it, she just handed it to me. When I got home last night she told me to keep it for walking downtown in case I had to go today (I didn't) so I left it in my coat pocket.

So two seconds later she comes out of her bedroom, goes into my coat pocket and takes out her mp3 player. I asked her if I gave her permission to go into my coat, and she ignored me and starts singing at the top of her lungs with her mp3 player. Once she comes out of the bedroom into the bathroom, she asked if I still wanted breakfast and I said yeah, and she's like "we'll see" because we only have one egg left and she was going to walk to Kwik Trip to get some eggs so I could make breakfast that she wanted.

Then comes out of the shower and asks if I'm mad at her. I said no, and she said well it seems like you are. I think its time to set some boundaries. Ground rules. But that seems childish.

My Quiet Corner of the Apartment Trailer Park

Awwwww..... aren't we cute? I have no idea how both of us fit on the couch. We were watching Top Gear on the DVR last Monday. I'm so happy he got his license back so he can come see me now!!!!

I did better last term than I thought I did.... Got an A in Juvenile Justice and a B- in Environmental Science.... giving me a 3.33 GPA. This term is almost three weeks in and I have 3 classes now instead of two, my counselor said as long as I keep up at least a 3.0 I can have three classes instead of two. Sociology of Policing on Monday nights, Issues and Ethics in the Helping Profession on Tuesdays, and English Composition on Wednesdays....

In english class last week we were assigned to find an editorial article and write a paper about if we agree or disagree with the editorial. I found an article from the New York Times about how families in New Orleans are claiming they were discriminated against by not receiving as much assistance as those who were wealthier and they have lawsuits pending that won't be heard until next year. Its been 5+ years since Katrina.
I was also interested in going to New Orleans to assist with cleanup and searched on Craigslist but was disappointed to find the people wanted money for room and board to come help them cleanup and rebuild.
So I wrote a paper from both sides and emailed it to my instructor and she asked me to read my entire paper to the class from start to finish, and said that I established good critical thinking skills because not only did I approach the editorial from both sides, but also introduced a solution to the problem. That was cool.
After class I had to speak with her about something and thats when she told me that she can tell I have a talent for writing and I'm brilliant... and I brought a copy of the book I wrote when I was 17 and she took it home to read it.
I have that stupid J.G. Wentworth commercial tune stuck in my head. Most of what I record to the DVR is daytime stuff with all paid programming infomercials during the breaks so I'm happy I get to ff through them... when I remember.
About 3 and a half weeks left on house arrest. It's went by kinda fast, much better now that I'm used to it than at first. Plenty of things to do to keep me busy, mostly homework. I'm glad we moved to this new two bedroom back in the corner, because if the both of us had stayed in that 1 bedroom I'd probably be sitting in jail right now til Dec 1st.
One more thing.... I may have a job but I dunno. APAC called me back, well the temp agency that assists with their hiring did. He asked why I quit, I explained what happened back in May when I left, and he said if I wanted to come back he would have to speak with the HR manager. He called him and called me right back and said the HR manager wanted to speak with me Friday at 1 and didn't see a problem with me coming back to work.
So I went in on Friday and said I had an appt with Todd at 1 and he had no idea what I was talking about. He told me to go ahead and fill out the paperwork and we would go from there. I didn't have to fill out everything, just the background check and basic info stuff, and re take the typing test. Had to get 20% accuracy with I don't remember how many words per minute. I got 95% accuracy with 54 words per minute. Then they said Todd would have to review the paperwork and someone would let me know. A half hour after I leave while I'm waiting for the bus, someone from there called me but I missed the call and they didn't leave a voicemail. So I called the guy who called me back; got his voicemail.... left him a message.... now I'm waiting for him to call me back I guess.
So it's the waiting game again. Oh well.

Meeting the Crazies

So we move two buildings north of where we lived and now we meet all the real crazies in the neighborhood. There's a reason I call this block the apartment trailer park.... Not like this block isn't full of nutso people all up and down the block, but I think the worst of them live on the north end.....

So the other night I'm standing outside and this guy across the alley is just a yelling. We live in the last building on the north end that goes east/west, and then there's two that face north south across the alley. Anyways.... this dude is yelling about someone who had left furniture outside by the dumpster.

"I'm bleein tired of bleepin lookin at it you bleepy bleepin bleep bleep... sick of you bleepin bleeps dropping bleep at my front door... I'm gonna call the Town of Campbell on your bleep, and the State of Wisconsin.... when I go inside.... you bleepin bleep bleeps have the nerve to leave that bleep outside my door...." and blah blah blah.... mind you he has his glass of liquor in one hand and a cigarette in the other... he was prolly going on and on for 10 minutes.... until the lady a couple doors down opened her door, yelled his name... he apologized and said he was sick of the people leaving furniture outside his door... she said it was hers and he apologized and went inside.

A couple nights later I heard someone just a yelling like crazy outside... so I step out to see what's happenin... the same guy is outside howling back at the dog across the street who's barking. After the dog goes inside, the guy yells "I bet none of you have read the Constitution, have ya?" Goes inside and slams his door.

Then I see this chick again who yelled at him the other day and she walked over here by me (in a tshirt and shorts and slippers and its like 30 degrees outside) and asked if I had seen anyone outside her bedroom window because she heard noises outside her window. I said I hadn't seen anyone outside her window and I had just come outside a couple seconds ago when I heard him yelling. She said he does that everytime he's drunk. I asked what her name is, she told me, then said the lady who lives next door to her will also be outside yelling all the time and that lady doesn't like her because she's jealous of her or something... and she walked away. Wow.

Started a new term in school this past Monday. Three classes this term, we'll see how it pans out. I actually have to take a writing class.... I have the same thoughts that I did about why I have to take a science class when it has nothing to do with my degree... oh well, it's keeping me busy. Homework for all three classes the first night! Figure I can do Monday's homework on Monday, Tuesday's homework on Tuesday and Wednesday's homework on Wednesday.... unless I get too bored this weekend. So far no plans except getting some things on my walls in my room, but that may be kinda hard since most of the things I want to put up are still at home and I can't get there til round the second weekend in December.

One more month of house arrest. It's driving me buggy. I want to be able to go out on my own free will, and now I have to be extremely careful because I got my final warning about being late coming home from my free time.... not my fault the stupid bus schedules are so screwy. Oh well.... just have to make sure I try harder on that one... sucks I only get 4 hours and the busses only run by here once an hour and twice an hour at the nearest transfer point, which is 2 miles away. I can actually walk home from the northside transfer point quicker than the bus can drop me off at my door.

Who knows... maybe this writing class will give me the inspiration to finish my book again. I'm re typing it chapter by chapter and editing it with name changes and all that way... it's been somewhat easier.

I Haven't Been This Happy...

In a long time.

It's been forever since I've written a blog... but I've been busy. Wow. There's something I'm glad I can say.

My first term in school is over. Those 8 weeks went by fast. My Environmental Science class took a field trip to the wastewater treatment plant (ewww.....) a few weeks ago and last week we took a field trip with the DNR to a few rivers around La Crosse to take water quality measurements.... and the picture got put on the college website! You can check it out here: https://my.uiu.edu/ics

And this week was the final week and research projects due... and knowing me... I put it off til Sunday night when one was due on Monday and put the other one off til Tuesday when it was due Wednesday.... starting next Monday I have 9 credits (3 classes) instead of 6 so things will be a little harder... maybe...

Anyways.... we moved! Yeah, the crazy roomate I was staying with in the one bedroom was about to be kicked out with me staying there.... see prior post for story on that... and we both figured out that I more than likely wont be able to get an apartment on my own with no job and only financial aid and unemployment for an income.... and we've been having a hard enough time trying to find somewhere with my history...

so I called my old landlord and he had two 2 bedrooms available... and said he wouldn't mind renting to me again. That was Monday. I saw the place on Wednesday. Signed the lease and he gave me the keys and I wrote him a huge check. We moved in Friday. Been here almost a week now. And I haven't been happier... it's huge! Cool kitchen, with a dining room, nice size living room, my bedroom is huge but its getting smaller as I'm unpacking it... Squeex doesn't like it too much though.... she keeps trying to play Houdini and sneak out the door into the hallways.... but she does enjoy sitting in the window watching the birds in the tree right outside the bay window. The coolest thing about this place.... it's only 2 buildings north of the building we were living in.

And my man got his license back today! That's news I just received so maybe we'll actually be able to see each other again! I miss him so much!

Here's Squeex and I watching the birdies.

That's all for now. Laterz.

Some People Will Never Grow Up

I guess.

Well Nik and I have been looking for a 2 bedroom apartment on the island. Because the two of us in a one bedroom apartment is just too small. So we found out her current landlord has a 2 bedroom available right around the corner from here and if we put $100 down on it we could have it, then they'd just switch the lease and she'd have to pay the difference from what she's paying here. But I had to fill out an application online before we could look at it.

So I did that on Tuesday. Nik called the office on Wednesday and the lady told us that there was some questions about my application and she would have to talk to the owner of the apartments before they could make a decision. Nik called one of the two and he told her that he sees a pattern of violent activity with my criminal background and he doesnt need the police activity in his apartments, and what if we decide in 6 months we don't want to live together anymore, then she'll want to move back into a 1 bedroom and it costs them about $100 everytime someone moves. Whatever.

So on my way home from school I get a phone call from the owner. The other one, not the one Nik spoke to. So he told me that the collections stuff isn't a problem, that my criminal background is, and also he has been getting phone calls from the neighbors stating she has someone living with her and that the police are at her apt all the time. I asked him if he was sure it wasnt her parents calling pretending to be neighbors because they're just dumb like that. He claims no, but they threatened to do that. Then he said its a violation of her lease for me to be living here and I cant since my application wasn't approved. And it's up to Nik if she wants to stay here or not, because he has no problem renting out these apartments... just the opposite of what the other one told her earlier. Then he tells Nik that she can still look at the apartment, but I can't look at it and she's going to need to choose another roomate. She told him no. Nik also told him that if he would like a copy of the police log for the times, dates, and types of calls to this apartment since she's lived here, we can get that.

I also called my caseworker at justice sanctions to ask her what I need to do about moving. And how to go about that etc. She told me how that works, then said she's been getting phone calls about me from a female with the last name same as Nik's. And this person is telling her that I'm having people over all the time and drinking and partying all the time and going out to the bar on the weekends. The caseworker told her she has no proof and to mind her own business and stop calling her. Go Kate! I know its Niks' mom because I asked the caseworker today if it was and she told me yes, plus Niks mom did the same thing with my probation officer and he didnt believe a lick of it. And Niks mom told me before, when we confronted her about calling my probation officer and she sat here for two hours trying to alibi every single minute of her weekend to prove they didnt do it... she said "when I call these people I give my name." Well ya did this time! Liars.

So then I called my buddy who's an officer here on the island and asked him if there's anything I can do to get them to shut up. He basically said there isnt, a restraining order is my only choice and he doesnt know if that will uphold because they're not directly harassing me.

Well then Nik gets home last night and calls her parents to confront them about calling my caseworker and her landlord. Her dad informs her that it's not them, its this chick named Elma, who neither one of us know. When we informed her dad that we dont even know this Elma, he said she might know some people I go to church with and talk to. I havent been to church in a year. Then he says she knows me because she goes to the clinic that Zach works at. Zach doesnt have contact with patients at all, he's a housekeeper. He cleans the lab, he barely sees patients. He doesn't know one person from another in that place.

Then her dad tells us to bring it on, and he wants to know who this person is whos telling these people this stuff because then HE wants to press charges for claiming to be them. What an idiot. Dude, the more you try to cover it up, the more you're showing your guilt. And told Nik that if they find out we're making this up we better owe them an apology. Blah blah blah keep talking. You only start crap because you're bored with your own lives and have nothing better to do. Niks dad stated that he will show her all the phone bills to prove that her landlords and my caseworkers phone numbers arent on there. Yeah right. Nik wants to move, chang her phone number and cut all ties with Mommy and Daddy. We'll see about that...

In the midst of all that... I got denied food stamps again for the second time in 2 months. The last time because they claimed I was still working my seasonal job in the Dells... that ended July 23rd. I was back in La Crosse on the 24th. This time its because I'm a student. Even tho I'm only taking two classes for a grand total of 6 credits... they consider that to be full time enrollment. Even the schools consider anything less than 9 to 12 credits to be only half time. So they said I need to be working at minimum of 20 hours a week in order to qualify for food stamps. Kinda backwards if ya ask me.

So we went to look at a 2 bedroom apartment this morning... a different one. Just down the street, like 3 buildings down. Her current landlord owns almost the entire block here in the apartment trailer park, but not all of them... there's like 5 buildings on the block he doesnt own. We totally love it. HUGE living room, nice size kitchen with a seperate dining area, brand new stove and fridge, and nice size bedrooms... got the applications this afternoon and have to get them back tomorrow... somehow... and hopefully will hear by Monday or Tuesday if we get it.....

Then I called my school and demanded my financial aid money. LOL No not really... just kinda wondering where it is... I told my counselor I REALLY need it because I'm basically going to be homeless at the end of the month... she said she would look into it and call me back. This afternoon I get a phone call AND an email from her saying I should have it by the end of next week at the latest, they just need confirmation that I've been attending school.

Yeh Its kinda been a crappy week but now I'm praying SOMEONE will approve my application and let me rent from them... it's not like I'm a felon or a drug dealer...

I Have Nothing to Say

  • so I will say it anyway.
  • I have nothing to say.
Zach came over last night.
That was awesome.
We haven't seen each other in a month
due to sickness and other things.
He cant drive so he spent lotsa money on a cab to come over.
Awww.....
Oktoberfest Races are this weekend.
I so wanna go.
But can't.
My favorite driver (J.Herbst)
is in first place with the point standings at 895
and the next closest behind him (Shawn Pfaff)
is by 2 points at 893.
For the first time EVER
they are having a 50 lap feature race
to determine this years points leader
at the Oktoberfest Races.
The last regular race of the season was a month ago.
So just the excitement building up to it has been drawn out.
It's gonna be awesome
but I wont be able to see it until Sunday night
when they replay it on TV.
I kinda got started on my homework.
I read about 6 pages
of the almost 100 I need to read
to get caught up on.
And STILL need to find a darn topic
to write that research paper on.
I've got two weeks.
Also to make a presentation for the last night of class
on the 20th.
I better get going on that.
Maybe later.
PROCRASTINATORS UNITE!!!! ....... tomorrow.

Boredom and Distractions and Too Much Time on My Hands... Oh My!

My Science book is sitting on the table in front of me
opened to the chapter Im supposed to be reading.
But I just can't get into it.
I don't know why....
I am so easily distracted.
I'm also supposed to be doing laundry
and making cupcakes.
The sun is shining
but it's supposed to rain.
I'm starting to see dark clouds to the north.
With all the time I have on my hands
I should have no problem
being a straight A student.
According to my Mom.
But the whole concept of time is somewhat funny.
We always have it.
Some have too much.
Some say they don't have enough.
Others don't make time to do what they want/need to do.
I've always seen it this way.... with too much time on my hands....
you think you always have time to do it later.
Since you've got nothing better to do.
But you don't MAKE the time to do it
before it's too late
or rushed into and a crappy job is done.
Thats the way I kinda feel about school.
I've got lots of time to do my homework
so I can always "do it later."
Not this time.
There's only 3 more classes left
before the end of the term.
And I have 2 research papers to write.
One of which I have yet to come up with a subject.
On the other hand... I've always done my best homework
in the last couple hours.
